Organise content into an effective learning and teaching sequence.
Having an organised and sequenced plan for teaching is important as it allows lessons to be scaffolded and incorporate a wider curriculum context.
Before planning for the coming week, I check on the term planner what curriculum outcomes needs to be covered. I then meet with my mentor teachers to discuss the student's prior knowledge and skill levels before completing the weekly planner. I brainstorm lessons, leaving time for pre and/or post tests if needed, then put the lessons into an appropriate sequence for the student's learning.
