Using ICT is important in the modern classroom as computers, the internet and other devices are more prominent in our everyday lives. ICT can expand the learning opportunities and means that student's have more up to date information, choices for showing their learning and learn more employable skills for the future.
I have implemented many ICT resources into the classroom to expand curriculum learning opportunities, such as:

- Showing a short youtube film via the projector for the 'whole class focus' to engage student's in the topic. Eg, showing a short film about Ned Kelly before starting a unit on bushrangers.
- Regularly using interactive games and websites such as 'cool maths' and 'scootle' as part of lessons or as free time choices for students.
- Watching 'Behind the News' as part of reading groups for comprehension activities.
- Allowing students to film themselves for projects such as creating a persuasive tv ad or election campaign.
- Communicating digitally with other teachers and staff through the use of emails to better plan and share information.
