Demonstrate the capacity to interpret student assessment data to evaluate student learning and modify teaching practice.
Simply using the 'first to five' strategy to assess student's understanding of an activity is a quick way to understand whether the lesson needs to be readjusted for the students to better understand the concepts.
At my final placement the students are tested once a term to determine the streamed groups they are to be in for literacy and numeracy, student's are moved around groups for some lessons depending on the student's abilities and interests.
During my placement in Hong Kong I was presented with opportunities everyday to assess and modify my teaching strategy as the same lesson is taught 5 times to different classes on the same day. I discovered during the first lesson of the day that my lesson ran too short, so included a short game at the end of my others to consolidate the student's learning.
