Demonstrate the capacity to organise classroom activities and provide clear directions.
Providing clear instructions and organising classroom activities means that the classroom will be run efficiently to maximise student's learning time and reducing stress on both the teacher and students. Some examples that I have used are:
- Weekly planner, refer to when creating resources, teaching lessons.
- Having a daily planner on the board for students to refer to during the day.
- Writing lesson objective on the board for students (Learn how to multiple 2 digits numbers without a calculator)
- When students work within their numeracy or literacy groups, have color coded instructions on the board.
- Lessons have a clear learning intention- Write the lesson intention on the board for students to see and refer back to during the lesson.
- Allow appropriate timelines for activities.
